the d-man table. finished june 24, 2007.

i kinda hate the bottom. but i really really like the top. and i hope it's not too girly for dylan. but he's mildly fruity, so im sure he'll get a kick outta it. he got outta work at like 8 this morning and i hope he wakes up soon so i can give it to him!

it took my a very long time to finish this table, like 2 weeks. ive probably only worked on it a totally of like 10 hours over the course of 3 seperate days cause ive just been kinda shot lately. there's been loads going on family wise, which has cut into creative time, and im excited for the future but exhausted until we get there. there i go being vague again but good things are coming especially for craftiness.

i havent had internet in a few days but finally my computer stopped being moody + started connecting.

i went to renegade craft fair in bk yesterday + it was really great to see all those wonderful crafts. i picked up a teal+orange wristlet that im inlove with from this lovely lady. i really dig cute pouches and bags made outta vinyl. i was also really blown away from some of the jewelery crafters, particularly fern works. the boy + i got there kinda early and it wasnt too crowded so we had ample time + space to look around. but after we grabbed lunch, we came back and it was swarmmmming with people and ten thousand degrees hotter! i have a nice semi-burn to prove it. if anyone reading this lives in chicago, i definitely recommend that you check out renegrade in sept when they do two days there.

i have TONS of tables to paint, lots of HUGE ideas but very little time. i'm trying to finish up the table im making for dylan now, i totally gave up on the cupcake table, it's like 3/4 of the way done but im just not feeling it at this point. anyways, i really like how dylan's table is coming out + hopefully ill finish it soon to post it. and im really psyched/overwhelmed about my idea for his birthday present but part of me thinks it's too huge to execute properly. im being vague but dont want to spoil the surprise incase he reads this!

ignore my crudey foot. now that ive taken pictures i'm even more uncertain if i like this table. it looks more "polished" in real life, i think, but then again, pictures dont generally lie. i wanted to make something cutesty and doey eyed and i dunno if i like this. i started to paint the border white and it looks pretty plain. i cant figure out what to color the rest of the table because im running out of paint! hmm...

and the bf was listening!

i had complained that i "literally need a paint brush with one hair on it!!" because i didnt have anything fine enough. and he bought me one [plus several other awesome brushes, a few tubes of arcylic, and a new paint box!]! yay new brushes! i dont want to use them though because they're soooo pretty!

michael's needs to come out with a membership card. i swear i'd even pay like 30$ for it if it got me a discount everytime i shopped there.

m-chael's had these tables on clearance last week for 9$ and it took me all week to finish painting it. i desperately need to get there tomorrow and buy like 3 or 25 more of them! i think i want to paint octo-tentacles on the next one[s].

i still need to go back over the edges because it's annoying me to no end that you can see some wood peeking through. i also need to buy some shalack and seal the sucker up! i made it for mom cause she's got so many potted plants on the patio now there's hardly any ledge space left for anything new. maybe i shouldn't encourage her to get more plants because at this point there's more plant space than people space out there!
